Just slightly over a week ago, I went to Glamour Shots to have some pictures taken because I need a professional shot to have made into a poster for the upcoming LA Times Festival of Books, April 24th and 25th at UCLA. My signing times are 10-11 both days for anyone who is interested. If you want to read about my photo shoot experience, click here. Anyway, knowing that I am probably the last person able to pick the best picture for a poster, I decided to let you help me pick by voting for your favorite pic out of the ones I selected to narrow the field down. Now I realize that a couple of the pics listed are probably not right for an author poster, but I had to include them, just because I liked them. Sooooo, help me out – which of the following pics should be my poster for the book festival?

I love 6, But…I also like number 2, (in case you have to be more serious about this
That’s why I can’t decide. I love #6 because it’s so fun, but is it right for a poster? I think it will appeal to my target audience, but do I need to be more formal? The votes will decide.

Great pics Liana! The ones with the pearls are gorgeous, but I’m going to have to agree that the last one would appeal to younger girls. It’s a darling picture and a little more fun. Mike agrees!
Thanks so much Kelly (and thank Mike for me too). I think the pearls really added a nice touch to those shots, but you know me, I’m more about the fun!

The other thing I have to remember is who I’m trying to appeal to. And the whole reason I posted this was for you all to help me decide. I am not the right person to make this decision (although I retain 100% veto power #justsayin)
I finally voted for number 6 because it shows so much personality and it’s fun.
However, if you’re looking for something more “serious” then I’d go with 2 or 4…both are just absolutely stunning. Seriously. 
Thanks Rhonda – I truly can’t decide. I love the fun of Picture 6 too, but is it poster material? Some of my young adult audience have weighed in with that one, but I love Pictures 2 & 4 too because they give me a little more “substance”. (Like it could happen outside of pictures ha-ha).
