Help Me Pick My Poster

Help Me Pick My Poster

Just slightly over a week ago, I went to Glamour Shots to have some pictures taken because I need a professional shot to have made into a poster for the upcoming LA Times Festival of Books, April 24th and 25th at UCLA.

One Hundred Day Challenge

One Hundred Day Challenge

Yesterday signified day 1 of the last 100 days of 2009. It’s hard to believe we have almost lived through a decade of the new millennium.

Time to Stop Procrastinating

Time to Stop Procrastinating

There are days I feel like I was born to procrastinate. I can be very good at it if I want to be. Anything and everything can serve as a distraction for the work I should be doing.

Waiting on Kindle

Waiting on Kindle

The day has finally come. The one I’ve been waiting for. I am so excited it feels like Christmas. My Kindle 2 arrives today!

Kudos to Mom

Kudos to Mom

Since it’s Mother’s Day and I didn’t get a chance to see my mom today (although I did call and talk with her on the phone) because she’s been sick. And before you go off on how I’m a heartless daughter not to visit her sick mother on Mother’s Day, she didn’t want me to come by. . .really. I have an upcoming procedure in a few weeks, and if I get sick it will have to be postponed. She enjoyed herself by reading Janet Evanovich’s The Naughty Neighbor, chortling to herself about the missing pig. Just the title alone captured her. She read it sitting on her new bench which has a bower that the birds like to perch on. Boy were they surprised to find out someone was actually using the bench. They usually have it all to themselves.

Strange Phenomenon

Strange Phenomenon

Today has been a somewhat strange day. I started off laughing this morning over a video by Jackson Pearce about the line editing process. Since I am in the middle of that process with Nowhere Feels Like Home, I can completely relate to it. So, the day started off well enough, and then as the day wore on, it started to lose its bubbles. While I was working, I noticed I kept getting email notifications of new people following me on Twitter. It happens once in awhile, but today was extraordinary. Being at work, I didn’t have time to check it out and see why I was getting so many followers. In fact, I didn’t have time to do much more than think wow, that’s a lot of followers.

Construction Coming Soon to Griffie World

Construction Coming Soon to Griffie World

Griffie World, my main website will soon be under construction. I think I’m going to (finally) bite the bullet and upgrade it this weekend. So, if you stop by, please excuse the dust (isn’t there always dust with construction?), and the two by fours laying all over the place. I want to get it torn down and back up as quickly as possible, so hopefully the interruption will be minimal.

Nowhere Feels Like Home – Tentative Chapter List

Last night, or rather early this morning, I went through and did a tentative chapter naming for Nowhere Feels Like Home. Most of the names are set, but a few may change. I’m going to have to live with the chapter titles for a few days to see how well I like them, plus during [...]

Dancing on Top of the World

I’m doing a happy dance because I have officially completed the editing process (phase I) for Nowhere Feels Like Home! Whoo Hooo!! People, I think we might actually have a book on the way. The phase I editing process is always the worst (unless of course I happen to be in phase II, III, or [...]

Day 2 of Good Progress

It is extremely satisfying to note that I had a second day in a row of good progress on editing my novel, Nowhere Feels Like Home. With the starts and stops that I have been experiencing, and inability to focus on getting the job done, prior to yesterday, I began to despair (just a teeny [...]
