Coming Out of the Cave

Coming Out of the Cave

By LK Gardner-Griffie on August 29, 2009

I have been working so hard on getting Nowhere Feels Like Home edited and ready for publication, that I feel a little like I have been hiding in a cave somewhere only attend to those things which were absolutely necessary. I have now tied it up with a bow and am waiting on my ISBN so I can move on to the next part which is getting a proof copy to ensure everything looks the way it should.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Start the Fireworks

By LK Gardner-Griffie on July 15, 2009

The moment strikes and it’s like a frission in your brain. Your heart starts pumping faster. You have the sensation of fireworks going off in your head. Pleasure radiates through your entire body until it reaches the point where you want to start screaming, “Yes. Yes. YES!”

When Is It My Turn?

When Is It My Turn?

By Phoenix on June 28, 2009

I usually don’t complain about much (except for when Mama gets an idea to put a hat on my head), I go amiably along with what my family is doing. I even wrestle with Elsa from time to time to keep her happy.

Time to Stop Procrastinating

Time to Stop Procrastinating

By LK Gardner-Griffie on June 22, 2009

There are days I feel like I was born to procrastinate. I can be very good at it if I want to be. Anything and everything can serve as a distraction for the work I should be doing.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Waiting for the Siren Call

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Waiting for the Siren Call

By LK Gardner-Griffie on June 11, 2009

Starting Memorial Day weekend, I took a two and a half week stay-cation, and expected to be able to work on the editing of Nowhere Feels Like Home, but life doesn’t always turn out as expected.

The Arrival of K2

The Arrival of K2

By LK Gardner-Griffie on June 10, 2009

Yesterday afternoon I had an appointment I couldn’t miss, so I left my husband on the front porch with a book to wait for the UPS delivery truck. Before you think I’m unjustifiably cruel, let me tell you about the UPS deliveries in our neighborhood.

Pearson Prize Teen Choice Award

Pearson Prize Teen Choice Award

By LK Gardner-Griffie on May 17, 2009

Back in November last year, I received an email invitation to participate in the Pearson Prize Book Award contest from the Learning For a Cause Organization. I’ll admit, I was a little puzzled at first because I had not heard of this organization prior to receiving the email, and didn’t know how they would have heard of me.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Controlling Characters

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Controlling Characters

By LK Gardner-Griffie on May 11, 2009

Pegasus has long been my symbol for imagination. You put wings on a horse and imagination takes flight. Of course, my fondness for Pegasus may have been fostered by the number of trips we would make by car from Southern California to Northern Washington during my childhood. We made the trek at least twice a year, and invariably we would gas up at the Mobil stations.
