Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Going MIA

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Going MIA

By LK Gardner-Griffie on May 31, 2009

Ok, with today being Saturday, I didn’t technically commute anywhere, but I do have some thoughts that came to me while I was relaxing this morning, trying to get ready to face the day. I looked back at all of my sites and realized that all of a sudden I appeared to drop off the face of the earth.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Book Previews

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Book Previews

By LK Gardner-Griffie on May 6, 2009

Since I review books for Lulu Book Review I am frequently looking at other author’s websites to gain a little understanding about the person behind the work I am making a determination on whether I want to read their submission for review or not. For those who do not know how the process works, I’ll give a brief overview. Authors who would like to submit their work for review will post a query on the Lulu Book Review blog Pick Me! tab. Along with the name of the author and the title they would like reviewed, we request a link to where we can take a peek at their work along with a brief description of the work itself and why we should review it.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Festival Aftermath

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Festival Aftermath

By LK Gardner-Griffie on April 27, 2009

In the aftermath of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, my mind has been mulling over lessons learned. I think it’s important to look for opportunities to grow and learn, and I usually find them. Especially when you are experiencing something new. So, as I drove to work this morning, my mind was busy critiquing the weekend and letting me know the areas where I need improvement.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Finding Othello

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Finding Othello

By LK Gardner-Griffie on April 16, 2009

Last night I was looking at the list of authors who would be attending the LA Times Festival of Books event, just to see who else would be there. I am still very excited as this will be the first time I participate in this event. As I browsed the list, I realized a name I sincerely hoped to see was not there. The missing name is Othello Bach.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Twitterizing the Workplace

By LK Gardner-Griffie on March 20, 2009

I was chatting online with fellow author, Shannon Yarbrough (Stealing Wishes, The Other Side of What) this morning before getting ready for work about a post on Twitter. I noticed that he posted that he was staying home from work due to illness and commented on it as our communication continued. Then, as we went [...]

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Griffie World

By LK Gardner-Griffie on March 18, 2009

This morning as I was driving along, I started thinking about change. Most of us don’t like change when it is thrust upon us, and I’m no exception to that. At work we have been trying to keep all of the machines running although they are getting up there age-wise and are definitely past their [...]

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Traffic

By LK Gardner-Griffie on March 17, 2009

Today, I thought that I might do a little blog about St. Patrick’s Day as I left for work wearing green pants and a blouse with some green in it. Maybe some musing on how much trouble you can get into drinking green beer (not that I have any personal experience with that), or perhaps [...]
