Thoughts from the Morning Commute – A Little Birdie Told Me – Part I

Thoughts from the Morning Commute – A Little Birdie Told Me – Part I

By LK Gardner-Griffie on December 24, 2009

Several months ago, I posted an article discussing how social networking, and Twitter in particular, has changed the solitary life of a writer. And as skeptical as I was of Twitter to begin with, I found it to be useful and a good thing.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Levis v Wranglers

By LK Gardner-Griffie on November 19, 2009

At the beginning of a new book is always an exciting thing. I’m always ready to see where my characters take me, and often times it is a surprise to me.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – The Writing Temperment

By LK Gardner-Griffie on November 17, 2009

As a writer, I have learned while there are many shared experiences in the writing game, there are just as many differences with how we work.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Start the Fireworks

By LK Gardner-Griffie on July 15, 2009

The moment strikes and it’s like a frission in your brain. Your heart starts pumping faster. You have the sensation of fireworks going off in your head. Pleasure radiates through your entire body until it reaches the point where you want to start screaming, “Yes. Yes. YES!”

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Controlling Characters

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Controlling Characters

By LK Gardner-Griffie on May 11, 2009

Pegasus has long been my symbol for imagination. You put wings on a horse and imagination takes flight. Of course, my fondness for Pegasus may have been fostered by the number of trips we would make by car from Southern California to Northern Washington during my childhood. We made the trek at least twice a year, and invariably we would gas up at the Mobil stations.

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Finding Othello

Thoughts From the Morning Commute – Finding Othello

By LK Gardner-Griffie on April 16, 2009

Last night I was looking at the list of authors who would be attending the LA Times Festival of Books event, just to see who else would be there. I am still very excited as this will be the first time I participate in this event. As I browsed the list, I realized a name I sincerely hoped to see was not there. The missing name is Othello Bach.

Thoughts from the Morning Commute – Authors Twitter

By LK Gardner-Griffie on April 1, 2009

It’s been a few days since I posted one of my thoughts from the morning commute. Part of the reason is that I took a few days off and wasn’t going to work. I was barricaded at home behind my computer screen madly editing away on Nowhere Feels Like Home. Since being back to work, [...]

Day 2 of Good Progress

By LK Gardner-Griffie on March 29, 2009

It is extremely satisfying to note that I had a second day in a row of good progress on editing my novel, Nowhere Feels Like Home. With the starts and stops that I have been experiencing, and inability to focus on getting the job done, prior to yesterday, I began to despair (just a teeny [...]

A Good Progress Day

By LK Gardner-Griffie on March 28, 2009

I have been struggling a little bit with the editing process, feeling like I was going too slow and not accomplishing very much each day. Of course, there have been all sorts of interruptions to the process, which doesn’t help. I don’t like setting goals and not meeting them however, so have not been pleased [...]

Celebration Dance

By LK Gardner-Griffie on February 26, 2009

I think I can finally come down from the clouds now. I finished writing the sequel to Misfit McCabe late Monday night, and inside have been dancing on table tops ever since. It is a fantastic feeling when you put that final period of a manuscript on the page. I did a quick read through [...]
